SCU can help you find personal assistance services to help you with day-to-day activities such as bathing, cooking, cleaning, community access, and many other support areas. SCU can help you receive home modifications, a personal emergency response system (PERS), medical supplies, transportation, and more. SCU provides service coordination to qualified aging individuals and individuals with disabilities for state-approved waiver services. Our experienced staff members are eager to help those in need and are equipped with knowledge of resources. We are excited and enthusiastic about helping you continue to live independently in the community.  

A personal care attendant must:

• Be 18 years of age or older
• Possess basic math, reading, and writing skills
• Possess a valid social security number
• Submit to a criminal record check and child abuse clearances when applicable
• Be able to demonstrate the capability to perform health maintenance activities specified in the participant’s service plan or receive necessary training

In the consumer model, the consumer is the employer. The consumer directs all care and the state-appointed fiscal agent processes all DCW time sheets.

In the agency model of service, the chosen PAS agency will send DCWs in to provide care for the consumer.
